Ex prez Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has one more case to worry about, and it’s with the NTC for her allegedly alleged link in the radio frequency brouhaha of Altimax Broadcasting Inc. and Globe Innove Communications Inc.
The thorn on GMA’s side is Lawyer Argee Guevarra.
Argee Argues that Arroyo had received a bribe in favoring Altimax’s in its many fuck ups.
Back Story
The congressional franchise to operate a broadcasting network was given to Altimax in 2000, which remained effective for only five years. In 2009, after failing to do shit, Altimax leased its franchise to Globe Innove which in turn used the rented frequencies for Globe Tattoo services.
If so, the government had lost millions in revenue due to unrealized tax payments by Globe.
Angry Argee said he would later elevate (ELEVATE!) the case to the Sandiganbayan.
Of course, Smart opened the Globe-Altimax can of worms in response to Globe’s meddling in the PLDT-Digitel deal. Smart’s complaint with the NTC is still under process – the telco wants the regulator to recall the radio frequencies of Altimax and offer it for public bidding among qualified operators.
Vox Populi!
